Ranveer Singh uses Govinda song lyrics to ask, Nagpur Police answers
Ranveer Singh used Govinda's movie Haseena Maan Jayegi's song 'What is Mobile Number' as the caption of his latest post. Nagpur Police answered '100.'
What is the reason behind Ranveer Singh’s colourful sense of fashion? While the exact reason is not yet known, it wouldn’t be wrong to credit Govinda for it. Ranveer Singh is a big fan of Govinda, and it’s possible that he would’ve consciously or sub-consciously followed the veteran, who was also known for a similar style. However, it is not just Govinda’s style that might have inspired Ranveer, he is also fascinated with Govinda’s songs. The Band Baaja Baraat star used Govinda’s iconic track What is Mobile Number lyrics for his recent post. Nagpur Police took the question literally as it answered and reminded through it about the police helpline number 100.
Ranveer Singh recently featured in a photoshoot for a fashion magazine. In the picture, he is dressed in a white full-sleeved shirt and white bellbottoms with a shawl, while his moustache stood out too. He is seen posing with the previous era’s telephone. He captioned it with the lyrics of Govinda-Karisma Kapoor song What is Mobile Number from the movie Haseena Maan Jaayegi, “Whattis mobile number? Whattis your smile number? Whattis your style number? करूँ क्या dial number?” (sic). The Twitter handle of Nagpur Police replied with just a number and an emoji to remind its followers a known fact, when in trouble, dial 100 to get through to the cops.
Here’s the post:
The social media handles of various police forces keep making headlines for their creativity. They often share memes that go viral related to a film, to convey a message. Recently, Maharashtra Police had sent a message against triple-seat riding with a scene from Andaz Apna Apna, as the classic completed 25 years.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, Ranveer is currently gearing up for his upcoming films like Takht and Jayeshbhai Jordaar. That's probably why he also no longer flaunts his moustache that he is sporting in the above picture. His next release will be ‘83, where he is playing the role of Kapil Dev, legendary all-rounder and captain of India’s 1983 World Cup-winning campaign. Ranveer’s only release of the year, Gully Boy, meanwhile, was a big success and is also India’s official entry for the Oscars next year.
