Raveena Tandon's Foundation to support martyrs' children's education

Raveena Tandon, who is known for her philanthropic work, has resolved to contribute towards the education of martyrs' children, in addition to the work her foundation undertakes towards educating the girl child.

Talking about it to a news portal against the backdrop of the dastardly Pulwama terror attack, Tandon said that these are the moments when everyone should come forward and contribute whatever it may be -- whether it's a big or small amount.

She further clarified that her Foundation will take care of education and also give out scholarships. This will extend to martyrs of the Pulwama attack, as well as India's other martyrs.

A few days back, Raveena took to her Instagram handle and wrote: "🇮🇳Jaimal Singh , Naseer Ahmed , Tilak Raj .. and more . The martyrs who never will die , but live on as India , in our thoughts prayers and the very essence of What India stands for . Jai Hind my brothers .. never forget and hope we never forgive those responsible . 🇮🇳 [sic]"

She also tweeted: "My prayers for the Jawans ,crpf of our beloved country and their families who lost their lives as martyrs. Your sacrifice shall not be in vain my brothers ... @crpfindia #YouStandForIndia [sic]"

Bollywood has come together to condemn the Pak-backed JeM's terrorist strike in J&K's Pulwama, with the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) announcing a total ban on Pakistani actors and artistes working in the Indian film industry.

In response to this, Raveena Tandon said that she stands by their decision. She concluded by saying that the Pakistan government must arrest those who are responsible for this horrible act.

Numerous Bollywood stars expressed anger and grief over the attack through social media. Several celebrities including Priyanka Chopra, Ajay Devgn, Shahid Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan, Varun Dhawan, Aamir Khan, Alia Bhatt, Shankar Mahadevan, Rishi Kapoor posted tweets to condemn the attack. Some, including Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar have joined Raveena Tandon in extending financial assistance to the martyrs' families.
