Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor starrer 'Saaho' which released on Friday, August 30, has been called out by Instagram-watchdog DietSabya for plagiarism. One of the movie’s posters which shows Prabhas and Shraddha holding hands with a background of lotuses stemming out from the dust into the pink sky is actually artist Shilo Shiv Suleman’s biofeedback installation called the 'pulse and bloom'.

Lisa Ray bashes 'Saaho' makers for plagiarizing

After Shilo Shiv Suleman condemned the move, actress Lisa Ray recently came forward to back the artist on social media. She shared the collage put out by DietSabya on Instagram and penned a long note criticizing 'Saaho' makers for plagiarizing.

Talking about art and creativity, Lisa Ray said, "It’s not even the image you see in the mirror. Creativity and its sister Art reach us from the sweet spot of the universe- the soul you might say- through a mystery. But I do know that the creator- the artist is the channel for it. Let me tell you how hard it is to birth anything original or authentic."

Recognizing  Shilo Shiv Suleman creative strive, she said, "I can recognize when a creator works honorably and deeply, bleeding, sacrificing, unsleeping, stretching herself in the direction of emotional bravery to produce work that births those feelings we all look for in day to day life. To feel inspired. To feel alive."

Bashing 'Saaho' makers with strong words for stealing Suleman's idea, Lisa Ray said that it is not inspiration rather a blatant theft.  Urging fans to speak up against the action, she said, "When something dishonorable happens, we need to stand up and speak up. To hold up a mirror to these makers to make them understand THIS IS NOT RIGHT. It’s come to light that big-budget film production has ripped off one of Shilo’s original creations. This is NOT inspiration but blatant theft. In no world, is this acceptable. The production did not contact the creator, ask her permission nor offer to collaborate or offer a credit. Nothing."

"I believed the Hindi film industry was evolving necessarily past stealing storylines and rampant plagiarism but the producers of Sahoo have obviously not gotten the memo when it comes to art," Lisa Ray added further.

Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor's 'Saaho' disappoints fans

After Prabhas' majestic performance in the 'Baahubali' franchise, fans were expecting something at par in 'Saaho'. However, the film disappointed fans big time owing to its weak and confusing storyline and inexplicably poor direction. 'Saaho' which has been pegged as the 'biggest action thriller of all times' is packed with breathtaking sequences, but still, it failed to create an impact owing to the poor screenplay. However, Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor's crackling chemistry impressed the audience and the box office collection of 'Saaho' will give the final verdict.
