'Saand Ki Aankh' GST free in Rajasthan, Taapsee & Bhumi thank CM

Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar's 'Saand Ki Aankh', awaiting an October 25 release, has been exempted from the state Goods and Services Tax (SGST) in Rajasthan. The film is based on the lives of the world's oldest sharpshooters - Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar from Haryana who discovered their love for the sport very late in life but went on to win multiple championships.

Chief Minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal to exempt SGST from the screening of the film 'Saand Ki Aankh' in the state, the official Twitter handle of CMO Rajasthan confirmed on Thursday.

Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar thanks CM Ashok Gehlot

Following the same, the leading ladies of 'Saand Ki Aankh' Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar took to their respective social media handles and thanked Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for the gesture. Taapsee thanked the Rajasthan CM for the encouragement and strength to keep moving ahead in the direction of empowerment and said that his support is 'extremely valuable in this journey.'

Bhumi Pednekar also responded to the Rajasthan CM's gesture and said that they are touched and humbled by the same.

Saand Ki Aankh

Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, 'Saand Ki Aankh' revolves around two aged women who take up shooting at the age of 60 to encourage their daughters towards a bright future as they did not want their daughters to go through a lifetime of suppression. What unfolded was nothing short of miraculous, as they discovered their skill of being exceptional shooters. Despite all odds, they won 352 medals each in the course of their professional life as shooters. 'Saand Ki Aankh' had also recently received praise from Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu.

'Saand Ki Aankh' which also stars Prakash Jha, Vineet Kumar, and Shaad Randhawa is produced by Anurag Kashyap and Nidhi Parmar and is scheduled to hit theatres this Diwali.
