Saif Ali Khan: Here's how the actor prepped for his upcoming movie
Saif Ali Khan is known to be one of the most famous actors in Bollywood. Here is how the actor prepped for his role in the film Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior.
Saif Ali Khan and Ajay Devgn will be starring in Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior. The actors will share the silver screen after 13 years. They had worked together in Omkara, which was directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. In the upcoming movie, Saif will be seen portraying the role of an antagonist opposite Ajay Devgn.
Saif's routine for his film
In an interview, Saif Ali Khan mentioned that he will be playing an antagonist in the film. This is not the first time that Saif will play an antagonist. In the film Omkara, he was seen playing a grey character, Langda Tyagi. He further mentioned his preparations for his role in Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior. Since it is an action film, he is required to look leaner and learn horse riding. He also mentioned that he had rigorous physical prep for the film.
According to sources, Saif has managed to take time off his exercise regimen and his several hours of shooting. He gives four hours from his schedule to practice horse riding. There are many action-packed stunts in the film for which he has also learned sword fighting. It is also reported that Saif’s role requires more flexibility and energy, so he keeps practicing horse riding and sword fighting even after shooting. Saif is also expected to maintain a diet to have a lean look in the film. He will be reportedly seen playing the role of a Rajput officer who was selected by Aurangzeb’s general to protect the Kondana fort.
Helmed by Om Raut, Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior is reportedly one of the most-awaited period dramas and scheduled to hit cinemas on January 10, 2020. Ajay Devgn plays the role of Taanaji who served alongside Chatrapati Shivaji and was the military leader of Shivaji's army. A source informed a leading newspaper that it took a long time for Saif to agree to play the role of a supporting actor. After the movie Kal Ho Naa Ho, he had promised to never work in a two-hero film. But according to the source, Ajay Devgn assured Saif that he will have a strong author-backed role.
