Saif Ali Khan is back to dazzle audiences at the big screen with his portrayal of Naga Sadhu in the film, Laal Kaptaan, and while the film is making headlines for all the right reasons, many social media users have pointed out a rather uncanny resemblance with his character and the Pirates of Carribean's Jack Sparrow. In an interview with an entertainment portal, the actor stated that the entire debacle has upset him quite a bit, and that the elements of his character which include the dreadlocks, the ash face, and the red jacket is something that is seeped in India, and that the character is our very own, and from our own time.
Talking about the physical appearance for Laal Kaptaan, Saif had said in an earlier interview, “I even got my ears pierced for the role, which I was worried about initially. My hair has grown a lot. It bothered me throughout summer, when I was shooting in Rajasthan's sweltering heat. It took me 40 minutes to two hours sometimes to just get into hair and make-up for the part." He has said that his character in Laal Kaptaan is that of a person who is an animal at heart, a flat-footed wild fellow. Navdeep Singh, who has collaborated with Saif for the first time for a film, told PTI, "Laal Kaptaan is that kind of film that is definitely going to generate a genre and narrative style of its own."
Other projects:
After Laal Kaptaan, Saif is going to be seen playing a father's role in Jawani Jaaneman, which is going to release on November 29, 2019. After this, he is going to release one more film in the same year. He is going to be seen sharing screen space with Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi in Dil Bechara.
