In a tete-e-tete with a leading tabloid, Saif Ali Khan revealed how his ex-wife Amrita Singh's advice helped him in Dil Chahta Hai.
Saif Ali Khan on career advice given by Amrita Singh
In the interview to a leading tabloid, Saif revealed that during his early days in the career, he never used to take his craft seriously until Parampara bombed at the box office. The 1993 multi-starrer helped Saif reconsider his acting career. During this phase of self-doubt, it was Amrita Singh (Saif's then-wife) who helped Saif rediscover his passion. Saif also revealed how Amrita Singh has always helped him with wise acting advice. Saif remembers one instance during the shooting of Dil Chahta Hai when he was engrossed in self-doubt. It was Amrita whose advice helped him portray the character of Sameer with such nuance and finesse. Amrita asked Saif to approach the role like any other and play the role as he wants. Saif did as Amrita said and made Sameer one of the most adored characters in modern Hindi cinema.
