Salman Khan's bungalow caretaker arrested in 29-year-old robbery case

The caretaker of Salman Khan’s bungalow in Gorai, Mumbai, has been arrested in a 29-year-old robbery case. The arrest was made by the Crime Branch of the Mumbai Police on Wednesday.

As per a report on ANI, the person in question, 62-year-old Shakti Siddeshwar Rana had been hiding since 1990 after he was arrested and received bail. When he did not return for the hearing, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him.

In 1990, Rana, along with two persons, had robbed a Mumbai house, after forcible entry and assaulting the residents. The trio was then arrested.

Police searched the Gorai-based property and acting on an tip-off, arrested him. As per reports, Rana had changed his identity. He is reported to have been living in a Gorai house, reportedly Salman's house, for 20 years. Rana had worked for Salman for 15 years. 

He reportedly evaded queries from the police for long, before finally confessing to his crime. Senior police inspector Ninad Sawant confirmed the incident. The further investigation related to the case is still underway, the police said.

Other guard of Salman  

Meanwhile, Salman Khan’s bodyguard Shera is the most popular bodyguard in Bollywood. Even Shera has not been away from controversies since he too was booked in an assault case some years ago. However, it was proved to be a false case later.

Shera had also featured in Salman Khan’s movie Bodyguard a few years ago. In fact, it is said that Salman dedicated the movie bodyguard to Shera. He was seen alongside Salman in the title track of Bodyguard.

Salman is reportedly planning to launch Shera’s son Tiger. Salman had revealed a few months ago that Tiger was being ‘groomed’ for a big launch. The 53-year-old had also shared that many filmmakers have expressed willingness to launch him and Salman himself was going through the scripts, to select the best one for him. 

A video of Salman Khan asking Shera to walk ahead of it in the ‘Pehle aap, pehle aap’ way at the airport had gone viral. A video where Shera was dancing with his father too had made headlines.
