Sara gained popularity through her next film with Rohit Shetty Simmba that also featured Ranveer Singh in the lead role. On a famous talk show Koffee with Karan, Sara confessed having a crush on Pyaar Ka Punchnama Kartik Aaryan. Sara Ali Khan also mentioned that she would like to go out on a date with him.

Couple debut in Love Aaj Kal 2

Months later Sara Ali Khan and Kartik Aaryan were later featured together in Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal 2. The film is expected to hit the screens in February 2020. Speculations say that after they came together in the film, the closeness between the two started increasing. For an event, Ranveer Singh played cupid between Sara Ali Khan and Kartik, the video was viral all over the internet.
