Section 375: Actor Richa Chadha on strong, content-driven films

Richa Chadha is known for her role as the Bholi Punjaban from the movie Fukrey. The actress is currently seen playing a lawyer in her recent release, Section 375 alongside Akshaye Khanna. Richa feels that content-driven cinema is recently getting highlighted in Bollywood because of the involvement of commercial stars and production houses in such projects. Richa Chadha on content-driven films
During a promotional event for her movie Section 375, Richa said that Bollywood always used to make content-driven films but it is only now that they are getting highlighted. She thinks that this is because commercial actors and commercial production houses are becoming part of such kind of films. This could be a nod to recent hits of content-based films like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Padman, Airlift starring Akshay Kumar, an A-list actor in Bollywood. Earlier, movies like Shahid, Aligarh, Talvar were high on content but did not perform very well at the box office.

After the special screening of the movie, Richa was asked about the movie to which she told the media that, the team has done their job and now are waiting to see the audience's reaction on it. She is very excited to see the audience's verdict of the film. Talking to the media, she also mentioned an incident when, one girl and boy complimented her by saying, ‘thank you for making this kind of film' which made her happy that audiences are appreciating the film. When asked on what message Section 375 gives to the audience, she told that movies give a message as well as entertain people. She hopes that people start talking about the issue highlighted in her film.
Directed by Ajay Bahl, Section 375 stars Akshaye Khanna, Richa Chadda, Rahul Bhatt, and Meera Chopra. The movie is based on the #MeToo controversy. According to Richa, the movie shows the difference between law and justice. The film released in the cinemas on September 13, 2019. It has received positive reviews from both critics and audience. The movie collected Rs. 8.04 crores, in its first weekend.
