Section 375 showcased at Singapore Film Festival

Richa Chadda and Akshaye Khanna starrer Section 375 was screened at the Singapore South Asian International Film Festival (Sg.SAIFF). The film festival was held from August 30 to September 7 in Singapore. It also included an award ceremony to honour films that made a difference to society. Section 375 was chosen to be the closing movie of the film festival.

Richa Chaddha is reportedly very excited about the film being shown in the third edition of the film festival to a live audience. The fact that Section 375 was selected to be the closing film of a renowned film festival like Sg. SAIFF is a reportedly great achievement and privilege for her. Richa Chadda said in an interview that Section 375 was about starting significant conversations in society about the rape law in India. She mentioned that it felt great to have the journey of Section 375 inaugurated at a prestigious film festival.

Akshaye Khanna, the male lead of the film, also said in an interview that the primary screening at Sg.SAIFF is the best way for Section 375 to start its journey in the minds and hearts of the people. He also expressed his delight about Section 375 getting chosen as the closing film at the Singapore South Asain International Film Festival. He reportedly feels that it is a privilege to showcase the efforts and passion that have gone into the film's creation and his personal experience in playing a significant role with so many shades. The co-chairman of the film festival, Piyush Singh also said that the thought behind the Sg.SAIFF is to have exceptional movies that activate conversations about issues related to society.

About the movie Section 375

Section 375 has been directed by Ajay Bahl. The movie revolves around Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code and explores the issues like rape and issues related to sexual harassment. The plot of Section 375 portrays a famous Bollywood director being accused by a female crew member, namely Anjali Dangle. She accuses him that she got raped at his apartment. The movie takes the viewer through the court case that follows.
