Shahid Kapoor unplugged
In the show, Shahid Kapoor spoke about his personal and professional life. Their conversation had topics from parenthood to his choices of films and his brother Ishaan Khatter. One of the anecdotes on parenthood shared between the two actors was Shahid's recollection of a rather amusing incident where his daughter Misha got confused by his looks. Misha mistook him for a stranger and started crying because he had shaved off the bushy beard he had to keep for his role in Kabir Singh.
In a candid conversation, Shahid said that he went through an identity crisis as a father because little Misha, who was about 18 months old then, could not identify him. He said, "I had an identity crisis because she (Misha) didn’t recognise me! It was at Mira’s parents’ house, I reached there probably a day or two after they had reached because I was just finishing some stuff up, and she just refused to recognise me... I wanted to take her in my arms and she came to me and started crying." He also added that this incident took place while his wife, Mira Kapoor, was away. In retrospect, Shahid feels that he could have handled the reveal in a better way as Mira's absence probably added to the confusion in Misha's thoughts.
On Mira, Misha, and Zain, and being a parent
Shahid Kapoor has often shared how important it is to him to make time for his children. He claims he was self-oriented before embracing fatherhood. Shahid Kapoor and his wife Mira Rajput welcomed their baby girl, Misha, on August 26, 2016. The gorgeous couple also have a baby boy, Zain Kapoor who was born in September 2018.
Shahid grew a thick beard to play the alcoholic, abusive Kabir Singh. His role was that of a brilliant yet impulsive young surgeon falls into a path of self-destruction after the love of his life is forced to marry another man. The film is a remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy (2017) and stars Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Ali Advani as the lead actors. The movie is the second highest-grossing film at the box office in 2019. The film made a worldwide gross collection of about ₹380 crore.
