Sooraj Pancholi in an interview with a leading media publication opened up about the suicide of his former girlfriend Jiah Khan and claimed that he was made to suffer soon after his arrest. Dishing out details he stated that he was put in the anda cell at the Arthur Road jail which was the most secluded cell, where one has 'no contact' with anyone else. "I was completely numb. At that point, nothing mattered. All that I kept thinking was that I lost someone who I loved.”, he added
Sooraj Pancholi speaks about the ongoing court case:
The actor claiming that the only reason he has been silent is because he respects the family, and understands what all of them have been through. Hitting out at the media and calling them 'irresponsible', he said "They only care about their TRPs. There are times when I’m in court and things have been in my favour and a lot of journalists were there. I asked them, ‘Will you write this?’ They told me they won’t because it’s a positive story and it won’t track. It’s unfair but I also believe in time.”
For the uninitiated ones, actor Jiah Khan committed suicide in 2013 in her flat in Juhu, Mumbai. She left a suicide note in which she blamed Sooraj for ruining her life. The actor has been charged with abetment to suicide. Jiah's mother Rabia Khan has been fighting the case for her daughter ever since.
On the professional front:
Sooraj Pancholi starred in 'Hero' alongside Athiya Shetty in 2015, but the film tanked at the box office. He will next be seen in 'Time to Dance', opposite Isabelle Kaif, Katrina Kaif’s sister.
