Sridevi tribute: Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi unveils 'Hawa Hawai' wax statue
Wax statue of Boney Kapoor's late wife and iconic actress Sridevi was unveiled at Madame Tussauds, Singapore. Sridevi's two daughters—Janhvi and Khushi joined.
Earlier this week, Sridevi's wax statue being unveiled at Madame Tussauds Singapore was announced. Sharing a glimpse of the statue, Boney Kapoor shared a small video wherein the late actress was seen in the 'Hawa Hawai' look from her iconic film 'Mr. India' at Tussauds. Boney Kapoor, along with daughters Janhvi and Khushi unveiled the wax figure for the public. Madame Tussauds, Singapore dedicated the stunning wax figure as a tribute on her 56th birth anniversary on August 13. Sridevi born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan in 1963, featured in over 150 films. Few of her iconic roles in Hindi movies include 'Chandni', 'Lamhe', 'Mr India', 'Chaalbaaz', 'Nagina', 'Sadma', and 'English Vinglish' among many more. Sridevi, a Padma Shri awardee's last film was 'Mom' and she was honoured with Best Actress National Award for the same.
SRIDEVI HONOURED AT THE CANNES FILM FESTIVAL
Veteran Bollywood actor Sridevi was honoured with the TITAN Reginald F Lewis Film Icon Award at the Cannes Film Festival in May. The award traditionally celebrates women of the film industry all over the world and also salute the multi-cultural impact on the world of cinema.
Veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai and producer Namrata Goyal received the award on behalf of Sridevi's family. "Janhvi, Khushi and I are overwhelmed with the recognition and tributes and love of millions of her fans being showered on her. Her work and life has touched so many hearts across the world and she has been an inspiration to millions. She will live forever, thanks to her body of work," the actor's husband, producer Boney Kapoor, said in a statement.
Recently, the late actor was also posthumously honoured with the Best Actress award for her performance in "Mom" at the 65th National Film Awards. For those unaware, Sridevi passed away on February 24 in Dubai.
