The movie, reportedly, did well with the critics in Chiranjeevi's home-town but saw a slow opening to the Hindi-version of the film. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy movie saw a series of good and bad reviews by its audience. Reports say that the two hours and 50-minutes movie went quite a bit slow during the initial part of the film and that the story picked up during the second half. The screenplay of the film is said to be overwhelming. Fans saw a disclaimer read out by Ram Charan ( son of Chiranjeevi) that gave an idea that the filmmakers had taken utmost care while telling the story of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, to avoid hurting anyone's sentiments.
