Taapsee Pannu to play a cricketer in an upcoming sports-drama?

Taapsee Pannu, who was last seen in Saand Ki Aankh, might soon step into the shoes of cricketer Mithali Raj; here are the details of this speculated project

Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu is setting the box office on fire with her back-to-back hit films. Pannu, who was last seen portraying the role of an octogenarian sharp-shooter in Saand Ki Aankh, might be seen playing cricket on the field as the captain of Indian Women Cricket Team. The recent reports making rounds suggest that she has been in talks for an upcoming project based on the life of ex-captain of Indian Women Cricket team, Mithali Raj.

A report published by a daily quoted the information of the project shared by a source close to the project. The report has said that though the story is locked and the script is under development, the team has not decided that who will direct the upcoming sports biopic. Giving the details of the project, the report also said that if everything goes according to plan, the film will go on floors by mid-2020 to take an early release in 2021. Talking about the Badla actor, the report also said that if everything falls in place, Taapsee will undergo rigorous training in cricket as part of her preparation.

Last year when PTI asked the 32-year-old actor about the same, she replied saying that she thinks it's too early to talk about it as the script is not in place. Adding to the conversation, she said that the team is still collecting materials. Giving the green light to the project she said that if the makers will offer her the film she will accept it as she wants to do a sports biopic.

The Game Over actor has already essayed the character of a hockey player and sharp-shooter on the silver screen. She is also gearing up to play the lead role in RSVP’s Rashmi Rocket, a fictional story about a woman from Kutch, Gujarat who aspires to become a sprinter.
