Tanushree Dutta initiated the #MeToo movement in India. The former actor has now opened up about Anu Malik being brought back to judge the Indian Idol 11 show after being accused of sexual misconduct. Many singers have come forward and accused Anu Malik of sexual misconduct. Singers like Sona Mohapatra, Shweta Pandit, Caralisa Monterio and Alisha Chinai had accused Anu Malik, with Neha Bhasin accusing him recently. Despite accusations from multiple women, Sony TV reinstated Anu Malik as a judge in the reality TV singing show.

While speaking to a news daily, Tanushree shared her views about reinstating Anu Malik as the judge. She stated that what shocks her the most is that Sony is supposed to be a family-friendly channel. She was surprised as to how can a reputed channel as it can allow someone like Anu Malik to continue as a judge on the show. she asked the question of whether TRPs are more important than human values.
Neha Kakkar had to go through a horrific incident when a contestant on the show forcibly kissed her on the cheeks. Tanushree Dutta also spoke about Neha Kakkar's silence regarding the whole controversy. She stated that Neha must have gotten the taste of what it feels like to be harassed when she was kissed by the contestant forcibly. She added that it was cringeworthy to watch a female celebrity get harassed to that degree on national television. Anu Malik has also shared an open letter on his Twitter, falsifying all the accusations. In the open letter, he wrote that he cannot think of sexually assaulting anyone as he is a father of two daughters himself.
