The movie was successfully premiered during the Toronto International Film Festival 2019. During the event, both the lead actors were interviews by a news agency. Priyanka was shooting for the film during the initial days of her marriage and found the role of Aisha’s mother to be extremely taxing due to the themes of the movie. However, she managed to work through because of her husband Nick Jonas's support. He said that the cast tried their best to be respectful to these real-life events and that hopefully, the movie would be able to do justice to the real story of the Chaudhary family.
