The film is also the National Award-winning director Shonali Bose’s second venture. The Sky Is Pink also stars Zaira Wasim and Rohit Suresh Saraf in pivotal roles.
The Sky Is Pink was screened at the 44th Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month. The movie has reportedly received a four-minute standing ovation after the screening. The Sky Is Pink traces the love story of Aditi Chaudhary (Priyanka Chopra) and Niren Chaudhary (Farhan Akhtar) for a span of 25 years. The story looks at how the loss of a child affects a marriage. The Sky Is Pink is narrated through the lens of their daughter Aisha Chaudhary (Zaira Wasim). In the trailer, one can see that Aisha introduces herself as the villain in her parents’ love story.
Why is the audience so excited about the film?
The Sky Is Pink director Shonali Bose’s last film, Margarita With A Straw, was a critically acclaimed hit. The film showcased the life of a teenager suffering from cerebral palsy in a hard-hitting yet sensitive manner.
