Motherhood is never a 9 to 5 job since a mother is expected to fulfill the mammoth responsibilities 24x7, 365 days every year. ‘This Mother’s Day I want to recognise her determination: Sameera Reddy, set to welcome her second child soon gives touching tribute to Sonali Bendre.
Motherhood is never a 9 to 5 job since a mother is expected to fulfill the mammoth responsibilities 24x7, 365 days every year. But just imagine, how tough it could be for her if amid all these duties, she has to face a battle of her own. Sonali Bendre Behl recently faced such a situation when she was diagnosed with cancer. However, the actress came up trumps against the dreaded C-word. Sameera Reddy, who is set to become a mother for the second time, lauded this ‘powerful warrior’, who she termed as an ‘amazing mother’ to teenage son Ranveer, and is her inspiration for her determination ahead of Mother’s Day.
Sameera took to Instagram on Saturday to share a throwback picture with Sonali clicked exactly a year ago, a few weeks before the shocking news of her cancer diagnosis had surfaced.
The actress wrote, “And in this one year Sonali has gone through so much and come out such a winner. She has been an amazing mother to Ranveer and i am sure it was tough on him and her husband with the sudden shock of being diagnosed. I can only imagine what they went through.”
The ‘Race’ star also posted another picture of her look after Sonali lost hair during the cancer treatment, alongside her son. She differentiated between the two to write how the latter had gone from that phase to a powerful warrior, more graceful and courageous. Sameera concluded that Sonali’s determination is what she wants to learn from on Mother’s Day.
"I told her recently that I felt how in this picture she was the Sonali Bendre of the past and how now in her new avatar she is a powerful warrior who has emerged even more graceful and courageous and I respect her for it. She inspires me and this Mother’s Day i want to recognise her determination as something we all can learn from.”
Sonali broke stereotypes by happily posting pictures without her hair, apart from being extremely open about her disease. Sameera too did so by opening up on facing depression due to her weight gain in the first pregnancy and posting pictures flaunting her baby bump in a swimsuit.
