This video of Nigerians recreating Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ song is breaking the Internet

It was less than a month ago that Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ celebrated 15 years of its release, on 28 November. And apart from the years, it seems the popularity of the love story has transcended even regions. A video of three men, reportedly from Nigeria, crooning to the title track of the movie has been going viral.

It was less than a month ago that Shah Rukh Khan’s film ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ celebrated 15 years of its release, on 28 November. And apart from the years, it seems the popularity of the love story has transcended even regions. A video of three men, reportedly from Nigeria, crooning to the title track of the movie has been going viral.

The trio shoots a selfie video with the fields in the background for their rendition of Sonu Nigam’s track.  

It’s one among them who does most of the singing and undoubtedly aces the tune and the Hindi lyrics without a hassle. The manner in which his friends make the background noises is hilarious, while the three of them singing the chorus together will surely bring a smile on your face. The delight of the men in shooting the video is evident in their wide smiles, and we are sure most of who watch it will have a similar feeling.

The video has already mustered 5.27 lakh views, more than 15,000 retweets and 27,000 likes since it was uploaded on 21 December.

The netizens went gaga over the singer’s voice, calling it ‘beautiful’, ‘amazing’ and ‘soothing’. Some thought he sounded just like the original singer Sonu Nigam. One was convinced he’d make money if he participated in reality shows.

And a few of them discussed how Africans were high on Bollywood. Kenya TV features Indian dramas dubbed in English and Hindi films are showed every weekend in African countries, were revelations made by people who've lived in African countries.

 They were many who laughed hard on the singer’s friends, and particularly pointed the man behind and some called the video ‘wholesome.’

'Kal Ho Naa Ho' title song is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and written by Javed Akhtar. The movie, also starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta, was directed by Nikhil Advani and produced by Karan Johar.
