Throwback to Amitabh Bachchan being called a 'child' by wife Jaya

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan celebrated 46 years of married life earlier this year. The two are spotted pulling each other’s leg in public. One such instance was when in a show Jaya Bachchan called Amitabh her third kid. Here is a look at when Jaya Bachchan said that.

“I have to raise three kids” – Jaya Bachchan

The video is from when Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan were still kids. During an interview back then, Jaya Bachchan was asked about when she was planning to come back to Bollywood. As a response, said that she has to raise three kids (hinting at Abhishek, Shweta and Amitabh Bachchan). This was presumably a glimpse at the banter they continue to indulge in.

In the interview, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan also discussed the Indian cinema, their children and the musical tours that they used to do back in the 80s. They also talked about how videos of films can pose a threat to the cinema. Videos had recently risen to popularity in those days. Amitabh Bachchan was seen talking about how the government should take steps to prevent piracy and save the cinema halls.

Amitabh Bachchan expressed his guilt of not being around for his kids

The actor also expressed his remorse of not being able to spend time with his kids due to being busy with films. In an interview around the same time, he had opened up about it saying that he felt it is embarrassing that he has not been able to spend ample amounts of time with his kids and how they are very formative in that age. Jaya Bachchan instantly rose to Amitabh Bachchan's defence and said that he spends lots of time with Abhishek and Shweta. She also added that most of their behaviour is also a reflection of him, as their manners seem to be influenced by their father.

Amitabh Bachchan turned 77 on October 11, 2019. The actor received wishes from the entire nation and his well-wishers across the globe. Hundreds of fans were spotted outside his residence, who wanted to meet and wish the superstar in person. His wife Jaya Bachchan, his son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan and daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda joined him for the celebrations.
