Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar who has been training hard for his upcoming sports drama 'Toofan' has finally commenced shooting for the same. The actor in a recent Instagram post revealed that the team has finally kick-started the shooting of the film on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami. The cast and crew of the film celebrated the occasion on set as the begin the shoot. Farhan Akhtar shared a picture of his director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra from the celebration, where he can be seen praying to the almightily with closed eyes and interestingly captioned it as 'the calm before the storm'.

About 'Toofan'

Toofan directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra stars Farhan Akhtar in the lead as a boxer. Besides him, the makers recently roped veteran actor Paresh Rawal who will reportedly take up the role of Farhan Akhtar's coach in the film. Scripted by Anjum Rajabali, Toofan will reportedly be produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan and Rakeysh. It will be co-produced by Farhan's Excel Entertainment and is scheduled for a 2020 release.

Second collaboration of director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar

Meanwhile, 'Toofan' will be the second collaboration of director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Farhan Akhtar after the 2013 venture 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'. The film which was also a sports drama was a biopic on legendary Indian athlete Milkha Singh. However, unlike 'Bhaaag Milkha Bhaag', media reports state that the upcoming film is a biopic. It is reported a fictional story that will showcase the journey of a boxer.

Farhan Akhtar training hard for Toofan

Farhan Akhtar has been training extensively for the upcoming venture. While details about the plot of the film are currently kept under wraps, the actor has been often sweating it out at the gym. He also shared a number of pictures and videos from his workout session on social media. He shares it with the hashtag- '#toofaninmaking'

On the personal front

On the personal front, Farhan is painting the town red with girlfriend model Shibani Dandekar. The pair's crackling chemistry has been the talk of the town ever since they opened up about their relationship. Recently, the celebrity pair walked the ramp together on the first day of Lakme Fashion Week 2019 in Mumbai. From the pictures that have surfaced on the internet, one can say that the couple looks much-in-love and couldn't stop looking at each other while walking for the show.
