Bollywood has seen a rise of young, talented actors over the last few years. Although Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and many more among the list are still active in the industry, several young contemporary actors have made their mark in the industry. With stars like Jahnvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Ananya Pandey, the change is near the horizon. Joining the ensemble is another actor, Vardhan Puri, the grandson of the late legendary Bollywood actor, Amrish Puri.
Being born in the family of iconic actor Amrish Puri, Vardhan Puri’s training started at the age of five. He started training under the guidance of his grandfather’s mentor National Award-winning actor filmmaker-writer Satyadev Dubey. Vardhan has been a part of almost 90 plays. Growing up and having Amrish Puri as the grandfather is not a small deal for Vardhan. Amrish Puri had always rubbed off on him and now Vardhan is set to prove his skills on screen with an impressive performance.
Vardhan Puri is set to star in his debut movie Yeh Saali Ashiqui. The movie is helmed by Chirag Ruparel. Vardhan will star in this movie alongside Shivaleeka Oberoi. With both these actors’ debut in Bollywood, there is a lot of speculation among the audience. Producer Jayantilal Gada shared information about the movie in an interview with a news portal. The producer shared that the movie was initially titled Paagal but they changed it after the censor board had an issue with the same.
Vardhan looks up to his grandpa and while speaking to an entertainment portal, he revealed that his grandparents were very close to him. The legendary actor’s demise was quite saddening for his grandson. Nevertheless, the young actor is set to deliver an impressive performance. Yeh Saali Ashiqui will hit the theatres in November 2019.
