One of the highest-paid and respected celebrities, Varun Dhawan has impressive acting skills. among the variety of roles he has essayed on the big screen, Varun has successfully portrayed the roles of a flirtatious Punjabi lad in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya, a tailor in Sui Dhaga, a vengeful character in Badlapur and impetuous brat in Main Tera Hero. Varun's early career phase
Varun kick-started his acting journey with Karan Johar’s coming-of-the-age drama Student of the Year in 2012. Co-produced under the banners of Dharma Productions and Red Chillies Entertainment, the romantic movie also starred debutantes Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in prominent roles. The movie released in 2012 and was commercially successful.

However. before stepping into the glamorous world of Bollywood, Varun enrolled for a course in Business Management in Manchester. It is a rarely known fact that Varun worked as an assistant director for My Name Is Khan in 2010. Moreover, he always wanted to be a wrestler when he was a kid, as per a report by a leading daily. During the trailer release of his debut film Student of the Year, Dhawan revealed some incredible things about his career.
Varun dreamed of becoming a wrestler
Just like his father David Dhawan, he dreamed of directing. As a child, Varun used to keenly watch WWF. In an interview, he revealed one of his favourite wrestlers to be Rock. The Main Tera Hero actor added that he would have a lot of arguments with his mother because of bruises on his body for trying wrestling. It was not long before he realised that his love for wrestling would not take him anywhere. He added that the entertainment part always attracted him, as he wanted to become a performer.
