After his successful debut in Student of the Year, Varun Dhawan has made his place in Bollywood and won millions of hearts. This actor might not have given a lot of hits, despite his father being a renowned director, but, his toned body and six-pack abs are what some people call body goals. Such fitness is a result of spending hours in the gym and following a strict diet. He has trained under Namrata Purohit, a fitness expert. Purohit reportedly said that Varun Dhawan works out for about one or for one and a half hours, four to six times a week, depending on his schedule.

Varun Dhawan, as told by his trainer, does a mix of pilates and weight training and works on strengthening his body as well as agility, flexibility, his balance and his stability. Varun Dhawan believes, to begin with, a full-body workout, one should first start with warming up the body for around 15-20 minutes before starting an actual workout. After a warmup, he moves to cardio and heavy-weight training. Like Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan enjoys doing stunts for himself for his action scenes. He had also mentioned to a popular fitness magazine that he likes going for a swim regularly even it is for 15 minutes. He also enjoys playing cricket and squash. You will often find him playing football with All-stars FC. Varun Dhawan mentioned in the same interview that sports cut down fat and even keeps the mind active.
Before his movie Judwaa 2, he started training under trainer Prashant Sawant for a Body Shed Program. His trainer had mentioned that he does two forms of training like weight training and pilates because each routine is different and every workout challenges him differently. With many actors moving to pilates for training and staying fit, this fitness training has made Varun Dhawan more flexible, lean and has improved his balance. He is now able to cope with injuries and prevent them. Varun Dhawan is a good dancer, and pilates has made his body fluid which helped in his flexible movements and made him a lot stronger.
A diet plays an important role when it comes to fitness. It is important to follow a strict and healthy diet to stay fit. Varun Dhawan has shared many pictures of his food on his Instagram story and even mentioned about his diet in many interviews. Starting with breakfast, Varun Dhawan likes having an omelette, at times an oatmeal or a whole-wheat grain sandwich. For lunch, he prefers brown rice, three chapatis, broccoli and baked chicken. Grilled fish and vegetables for dinner. He has lotus seeds, papaya, banana or drinks a protein smoothie. Varun Dhawan reportedly loves to enjoy pizzas, cheesecake and even a chocolate milkshake on his cheat days, as known from his social media stories.
