Varun Dhawan started his career as an assistant director in Shah Rukh Khan’s film, My Name Is Khan. One of the highest-paid actor in India, Varun Dhawan entered the film industry with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Student Of The Year (2012). 1. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014)

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania starred Alia Bhatt opposite Varun Dhawan. The film casts Varun Dhawan as Humpty and Alia Bhatt as Kavya from Ambala, who is set to engage to an NRI doctor. She goes to Delhi to buy a designer bridal lehenga for her wedding where she meets Rakesh aka Humpty, who gets attracted to her. Thus, the series of comedy and romance begins. The film was a commercial hit.

2. Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017)

Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which was the sequel of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was also directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar. It was the ninth highest-grossing Bollywood film in 2017. Badrinath Bansal aka Varun Dhawan from Jhansi and Vaidehi Trivedi aka Alia Bhatt from Kota meet in a wedding and come to terms that both have diametrically different opinions on everything. This leads to a clash of ideologies, despite both of them recognizing the goodness in each other.

3.  Main Tera Hero (2014)

Main Tera Hero belongs to one of the popular rom-coms by Varun  Dhawan. The film was directed by Varun’s director-father, David Dhawan. Varun was a rage and a complete laugh riot in his father’s directorial with him. According to his fans, Varun Dhawan got stamped as the new age Govinda as seen in Main Tera Hero. The film also starred Ileana D’Cruz and Nargis Fakhri.

4.  Student Of The Year (2012)

Student Of The Year was the Hindi language coming-of-age rom-com film directed by Karan Johar. The film was produced by Hiroo Yash Johar & Karan Johar under their Dharma Productions with Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment. Along with Varun Dhawan, the film was also the debut of Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra. In this college drama, several alumni reminisce about their final year at St. Theresa’s College and the events that shaped their lives.
