Vicky Kaushal and other actors who lost weight for their movies
Bollywood has seen many weight loss transformations. The most remarkable ones being Randeep Hooda, Aamir Khan, and now Vicky Kaushal. Read why and how.
Bollywood has seen many weight loss transformations over the years. There are many Bollywood actors who have lost and also gained weight because the script demanded them to do so. One of these actors is URI star Vicky Kaushal. Vicky Kaushal, who is in his 30s, will be portraying the role of a young mid-20s Udham Singh in the freedom fighter's biopic. It has been reported that the actor has lost about 13 kgs in three months for his role in Udham Singh.
He had to shed those kilos in order to play the younger version of Udham Singh. It is also reported that the actor worked out with his trainer while he also followed a strict diet every day. Also, the Uri actor will have to regain his lost weight immediately for his role of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in Karan Johar's Takht.
Apart from Vicky Kaushal, even Aamir Khan lost weight for his movie Dangal. His transformation video From Fat to Fit was released on YouTube. In it, the actor spoke about how he suggested the makers of the film shoot the 80% of the film first where he is seen as a 52-year-old man followed by the rest of the movie where he is a young wrestler. The suggestion was made so that he will have the motivation to the lose excess weight that he had put on to look like a 52-year-old.
Speaking about the transformation, Aamir Khan said that it was indeed very challenging. He also spoke about the challenges that he faced when he had gained weight. He further added that the weight bothered his movements and also changed his entire body language overall. His dedication helped him to reach the mark of 97kg from 70kg with 38% body fat.
Just like Vicky Kaushal and Aamir Khan, even Randeep Hooda lost about 18 kg in as small a window as 28 days. He looked almost unrecognisable in the first look of the movie Sarbjit. The movie is a biopic of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer who was convicted for terrorism and spying in Pakistan, and who was also sentenced to death. The Highway actor went down from 95kg to 66kg. He took to social media to share his transformation.
According to reports, Randeep Hooda cut down on his meals. He only survived on coffee and water. All of this was done under the supervision of a doctor who was also present on the sets of the film.
