Vidya Balan, who made her Bollywood debut in 2005 with Parineeta, opened up and shared her experience of being propositioned to resort to a casting couch for a role. In an interview with Pinkvilla, the Kahaani actress revealed that she was asked by the director to go to her room during a meeting. Read here to know more about it.

Vidya Balan expressed that this happened to her while she was in Chennai, before she had landed her first major project. The director came to meet her. While she suggested drinking coffee at a coffee shop, the director kept insisting that he wants to talk to her and that they should go to her room. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa actor then went to her room with the director but made sure that she kept the door wide open. The director left the room within five minutes of entering.
Vidya Balan also added that someone wrote a comment about her which said that if she dresses the way she does, then she has no place in this business and should stay at home. The Mission Mangal actor stated that she was affected by these lines for the longest time and it would haunt her in her dreams and make her angry. Vidya Balan also added that things like this do not get to her anymore.
Vidya Balan was last seen in a hit movie based on India’s mission to Mars, Mission Mangal. She was seen with stars like Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, and Kriti Kulhari in pivotal roles. The movie was directed by Jagan Shakti.
Vidya Balan will next be seen in Shakuntala Devi: Human Computer. The movie is based on the real-life story of Shakuntala Devi, who is in The Guinness Book of World Records. The movie will be directed by Anu Menon. The movie will reportedly hit the screen on January 1, 2020.
