Virat Kohli birthday: Anupam Kher's 'prized possession', veterans wish
As Virat Kohli celebrated his 31st birthday, Anupam Kher, Javed Akhtar and Chandro Tomar expressed their heartfelt greetings with some lovely pics and messages.
When Sachin Tendulkar set records galore in his career, not many would have thought those feats could be under threat soon, that too by an Indian. But today, Virat Kohli is chasing all of the Master Blaster’s records, apart from establishing records as a captain too. Despite numerous hurdles throughout this journey, be it a dip in form putting him out of the side or his aggression getting the better of him, the Indian captain’s trajectory has only gone upwards since then, establishing himself as one of the greatest batsmen of the current generation. Considering these feats, it’s obvious that the cricket and sports fraternity are fans of the superstar, but that’s not all, Virat also gets his fair share of love from Bollywood, courtesy his marriage to Anushka Sharma. As Virat Kohli celebrated his 31st birthday on Tuesday, there were many from the film fraternity who conveyed their wishes to him. Anupam Kher and Javed Akhtar wished the ‘run machine’ for making the country proud and giving the citizens joy with every run he scores.
Veterans wish
Anupam Kher wished Virat Kohli for his birthday, with a picture of him posing with Virat-Anushka from the recent Diwali bash hosted by Amitabh Bachchan. The veteran said the picture was a ‘prized possession’ for him, as he called the star batsman as the ‘Hero of Heroes.’ The A Wednesday star captioned the post, “Happy birthday dear @imVkohli! You give so much happiness & joy to millions of Indians all over the world. May God give you all the happiness, peace & success. This pic of you and @AnushkaSharmawill always be my prized possession. You are our #HeroOfHeroes. #CaptainKohli.”
Another veteran, Javed Akhtar also shared a picture with the couple. He is seen posing with them at the Mumbai airport in the snap. He captioned it, “Happy birthday Virat and thank you so much for making us all feel proud and dignified with every run you make. More power to you !!”
Another veteran, Chandro Tomar is only remotely associated to Bollywood, courtesy the film on her, Saand Ki Aankh, that released recently, but mainly represents sports like Virat. Tomar, one of the world’s oldest sharpshooters, had a wish in the way she would fire, comparing Virat Kohli’s shots with bullets. She also termed him as India’s ‘laadla’ (favourite).
