War: Hrithik Roshan starrer creates history at the box office on Day 1

What can you expect when two of the most popular action heroes come face to face? War, the Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer released yesterday and has already hit a major mark. The box office collection of the film is not only impressive but is said to have the highest first-day collection in 2019. Many film critics and trade analysts had already predicted the record-breaking results of the film. The War movie stars Befikre actor Vaani Kapoor as the female lead.

Film critic and trade analyst Sumit Kadel revealed in a tweet that although the movie had 800-1000 screens lesser than Thugs of Hindostan, the movie exceeded their day 1 box office collections. He also stated that the movie made approximately ₹ 50 crore net collection on Day 1 itself. Trade analyst Girish Johar in a tweet also mentioned that he had predicted that the War movie to be a great hit at the box office. He further wrote that the movie has had a historic day 1 at the box office and that the film might ‘top all-time highest starter’ in Hindi alone.

Sumit Kandel kept the audiences updated with the occupancy of the shows on the first day. He said that the War movie has caused ‘destruction and mayhem’ at all the box offices in all four directions. He also revealed that the day 1 occupancy of the shows have been at 70%-75% since the morning. He then confirmed his prediction saying that the movie is heading towards ₹ 50 crores plus mark at a great pace.

Kandel was extremely sure that the War film will do wonders at the Box office. He had previously tweeted that the movie will mint ₹ 48-50 plus crores on the first day. He had even mentioned the analysis and the reason for his statements. In an Instagram post, he wrote, that the movie is the first Hindi movie to cross the ₹ 25 crore mark. He also spoke about the pre-booking in the state of Bengal. He also wrote that a net business of ₹ 2.20-2.30 cr has been done by the movie in West Bengal, especially Kolkata

War is an action-thriller movie, written and directed by Sidharth Anand. The movie stars Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor in pivotal roles. The movie revolves around a soldier who has been assigned to slay his former mentor who has gone rogue. The movie was released on October 2, 2019.
