The title might be War, but the movie is receiving love at the box office. The Hrithik Roshan-Tiger Shroff starrer has hit it out of the park with a record-breaking opening, crossing Rs 75-crore mark in merely two days, apart from taking the highest opening for a Bollywood film ever. The team is in a celebratory mood, but the journeys of the duo’s characters Kabir and Khalid might not be over yet. The action film could be gearing up for a sequel, very soon.
Sequel soon?
The team of War, Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor and Siddharth Anand came together for a success gathering as the film minted a big total on the first two days. When asked about the possibility of a sequel at the event, Siddharth said, “Too early, but definitely there was an idea that we convert it into a franchise, provided we receive love from the audiences. Now, it seems more that it is the audience’s demand, more than our desires, and that’s how it should be. So we will soon sit on the lunch table, very soon.” It’d be interesting to see how the characters are played out in War part 2.
Also, when one journalist asked Tiger and Hrithik about how the success had proved their dialogues, “Din tera hoga, saal mera hoga” from Student of the Year 2 and “Sabse lambi chalang hum hi lagayenge” from Super 30, Hrithik replied, “I guess, the next time we say something, you all should trust us.”
Also, it is rare nowadays to see two-hero projects, unlike the trend seen in previous years. When asked about it, Hrithik said, “To pull off a two-hero film, you need two people, who have honest and real admiration and love for each other. If not, the director is dead. With Tiger, I genuinely feel so much love, and so much admiration for the person he is, the actor he is and without that, I don’t think it is possible.”
Tiger said, “Adding to what Hrithik sir said, the day I came to know that I’m doing a two-hero film with Hrithik Roshan, I felt there couldn’t be a bigger opportunity than this. One of the things of my to-do list are checked off. This has been an educational journey, an empowering journey. This film is more important for me because he is lieterally somebody who I look up to, so it was very easy for me to relate to my character, because my character looks up to his character in the film as well. It is a very genuine feeling and I did it as honestly as I could.”
