Over 500 films and almost four decades in the industry, but Anupam Kher is still firing on all cylinders. The veteran had the ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ earlier this year and is even working on an international web series ‘New Amsterdam.’ The 64-year-old is now ready with his next, a thriller titled ‘One Day’. While the teaser is gripping, netizens picked out a word that the veteran delivers in it, Nyay (justice), and had interesting reactions over the word, after the Congress’ recent promise in its manifesto of the same name.
In the teaser unveiled on Monday, a grey-haired Kher is seen looking in the sea and turning on the lighter as his voiceover plays, “Monday, Tuesday या Wednesday... इनकी पहचान सिर्फ़ तारीख़ों से होती है। लेकिन जिस दिन न्याय मिलता है, वो दिन कहलाता है.... ONE DAY.” (Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, they are identified by their dates. However, the day justice is served is called ‘One Day.’)
Several netizens got stuck on the word 'Nyay', a promise Congress party made in its manifesto if voted to power. According to the proposed scheme, it has promised to deposit Rs 72,000 annually into the bank accounts of 20 per cent of the poorest people across the country if it comes to power.
Earlier, PM Narendra Modi and Union Ministers Arun Jaitley and Piyush Goyal have panned the proposed scheme.
Netizens hoped this ‘Nyay’ is different to that announced by RG (Rahul Gandhi). One wrote 'Nyay' will be delivered on May 23, the date of the election results, another supported PM Modi by writing 'NaMo again' while a person asked if it was a ‘Nyay’ from UPA.
Check out the reactions here:
Kher, who played former PM Manmohan Singh, a Congress leader, in 'The Accidental Prime Minister', recently had reacted to the letter signed by several artistes of the country to vote out the elected government and taken a dig that at least there were no 'pretentions' on it.
Meanwhile, ‘Good Day’ is set to release in the Summer of 2019 at the same time the Lok Sabha elections are being held.
