As October 10 marks World Mental Health Day, it is the best time to talk about mental health issues. Various Bollywood celebrities have opened up and shared their side of the story in context to mental health. This is just proof that anyone can suffer from depression and anxiety. From Deepika Padukone to Karan Johar, there are various celebrities who had shared their struggles about coping up with depression and mental health. On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, here is a list of Bollywood stars who have decided to end the bizarre opinion of not discussing mental health.
Shahrukh Khan
In an interview, Shahrukh Khan revealed how he went through depression and coped through it eventually. In his conversation with a news portal, Shahrukh Khan shared that he feels refreshed and healthy from inside after he went through the injury and how the sufferings made him go into the depression mode. He expressed his happiness saying he is happy about getting out of it and boosted with energy.
Deepika Padukone
At the peak of her career, Deepika was hit by depression. She battled it like a fighter and was very vocal about it. Deepika always encouraged people to share their stories and improve their mental health. The actress also started a foundation called ‘The Live, Love, Laugh Foundation’. The aim of the foundation is to create awareness about mental health issues in India and help people going through depression.
Alia Bhatt
Alia Bhatt has always expressed about her mental health issues. She raised awareness and mentioned her sister who was struggling with depression and she supported her completely. She informed that the fight is internal and needs to be dealt with slowly.
Tiger Shroff
After the failure of his movie, A Flying Jatt, Tiger went into depression. The first flop didn’t go well with the star. He shared his story in an interview where he explained that he made his grand entry with Baaghi (2016). When he faced his first failure in the industry, he said that he was devastated and faced a month of hard-core depression. This also led to a lot of emotional binge eating. However, Tiger coped up with it eventually.
