World Mental Health Day: Sidharth Malhotra talks about 'hidden wounds'
As the World observed Mental Health Day on Thursday, October 10, Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra came forward to raise awareness about mental illness.
On October 10 every year, the world observes Mental Health Day in order to raise awareness about the social stigma relating to mental illness. This year, several Bollywood stars and eminent celebrities joined the global initiative to address the issue.
Recently, Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra took to Twitter and penned a moving post, talking about how 'hidden wounds' are equally dangerous. He said that poor mental health is an important issue that needs to be raised and addressed. Sidharth Malhotra further urged fans to start a dialogue, create awareness, and reach out to someone in need of help. Extending self-boosting message, he further wrote, "remember you are stronger than you know!"

World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day, which is observed every year on October 10, aims to educate and raise awareness about mental health issues. It also fights the social stigma relating to the same. As per media reports, World Mental Health Day was first observed in 1992 and was initiated by the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries.
World Mental Health Day is supported by the World Health Organisation (WHO), which raises awareness on mental health issues using its strong relationships with the Ministries of health and civil society organizations across the globe. This day, every year, thousands of supporters come out to celebrate this annual awareness program and bring attention to mental illness. It discusses the major effects of mental illness on peoples' life worldwide.
What's next for Sidharth Malhotra
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sidharth Malhotra's upcoming venture Marjaavaan is all set to hit the theaters on November 15. The film which is pegged as 'a violent, dramatic love story' stars Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. It brings together Milap, Riteish, and Sidharth for the second time after the romantic thriller film Ek Villain which also starred Shraddha Kapoor in the lead.
Besides this, Sidharth Malhotra will also be starring in Shershaah (Lion King), where he will essay the role of Kargil hero Vikram Batra.
