Yami Gautam: Must watch movies of the Kaabil actor since her debut

One of the successful actors who rose from TV to Bollywood, Yami Gautam has become a popular name in the industry. From debuting with Ayushmann Khurrana in Vicky Donor to Uri: The Surgical Strike, she has managed to make a place for herself in industry and has won many hearts. Vicky Donor (2012)

Directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by actor John Abraham, the film Vicky Donor was the debut movie of the leading actors Yami Gautam and Ayushmann Khurrana. The movie dealt with the subject of sperm donation and infertility. The film received positive-response and performed well at the box-office. In the film, Yami plays the character of Ashima Roy, who marries Ayushmann and later tackle the problem of infertility.

Badlapur (2015)

The action-thriller film Badlapur features Varun Dhawan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi, Divya Dutta and Radhika Apte. The movie is based on the novel Death’s Dark Abyss which is written by Massimo Carlotto. The film was nominated for Best Film in the 61st Filmfare Awards.

Kaabil (2017)

Although the movie clashed with SRK’s Raees at the box office, the movie starring Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam received great reviews from the critic. Kaabil follows the story of visually impaired couple Supriya and Rohan. Their lives take an intense turn when Supriya is raped by someone and she commits suicide. Later, Rohan vows to take revenge from the culprits.

Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)

Helmed by the debutant director Aditya Dhar, the film features Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. The film won big at the 66th National Film Awards. The film is based on the surgical strike carried out by the Indian Army on terrorist launchpads across the LOC on September 29, 2016. Vicky played the role of Major Vihaan Shergil, who leads his army to cover the operation.

Apart from the above-listed films, Yami also features in many South Indian films such as Courier Boy Kalyan, Hero, Yuddham and many others. She also did many Bollywood movies like Sanam Re, Action Jackson, Total Siyapaa, Junooniyat, and Batti Gul Meter Chalu. Before entering into Bollywood industry, the actor was a well-known TV actor and also a brand ambassador of Fair and Lovely.

The actor won the Best Female Debut for Vicky Donor at Zee Cine Awards. She also won Star Debut of the Year-Female at the IIFA awards for the same film. She was also nominated for Break Through Performer Of The Year Award for Kaabil at Lux Golden Rose Awards.
