Cyber-security firm McAfee on Tuesday, October 2, announced the most dangerous celebrities on the Internet, searching for whom might land up the users on websites that carry viruses or malware.

Cyber-security firm McAfee on Tuesday, October 2, announced the most dangerous celebrities on the Internet and 'Orange is the New Black' actress Rubi Rose tops the list. Hollywood actress Rubi Rose who has become an internet sensation in the recent years has been tagged as the most 'dangerous' celebrity on the internet because searching for her on the internet has the maximum chance of landing the users on websites that carry viruses or malware. She was followed by several other stars which included Reality TV star, Kristin Cavallari and actress Marion Cotillard. 

The 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage' actress who was recently featured as 'Batwoman' in the CW series based on the DC Comic character, replaced singer Avril Lavigne as the most dangerous celebrity online.

As per media reports, Here are the top 10 celebrities who are included in the 2018 list of most dangerous stars provided by the company:

  1.  Rubi Rose
  2.  Kristin Cavallari
  3.  Marion Cotillard
  4.  Lynda Carter
  5.  Rose Byrne
  6.  Debra Messing
  7.  Kourtney Kardashian
  8.  Amber Heard
  9.  Kelly Ripa
  10. Brad William Henke

The list also includes the other Kardashian sibling, actress and fashion influencer, Kim Kardashian, who ranks 19th in the list. As per media reports, the company said that the survey was undertaken to highlight the danger of clicking on 'suspicious' links that might lead the user up to downloadable virus content. They said that hackers often analyse internet user's curiosity about celebrities and link feeds to malicious websites that might infect their devices or breach their personal data. It urged the users to always apply updated security fixes to avoid a data breach. Explaining how they conducted the survey, the company reportedly used its own site ratings to compile the celebrity list and user searches on online giants- Google, Bing and Yahoo.

The 2017 list for the most dangerous celebrities by the company included names like Beyonce, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Carly Rae Jepsen, Zayn Malik, Celine Dion, Calvin Harris, Justin Bieber, and Sean "Diddy" Combs. 

Meanwhile, social media giant Facebook also announced a massive data breach on Friday, September 28, where it revealed that 50 million accounts on its platform were compromised.
