Jeopardy! is a popular game show with a twist. The answers are given first and the contestants supply the questions. Alex Trebek has been the host of this show for several years now. He appeared to get emotional on Monday's episode of Jeopardy! when semifinalist contestant Dhruv Gaur used his response to convey the message "We love you, Alex". After this, Trebeck asked
“Did you give you the precise one? No?”
What’s we love you Alex. That is very kind, thanks.”
As the answer was "love" and Dhruv had penned the message. He bet $1995 of his $2000 on the answer. To this heartfelt gesture, Alex replied
“Oh, that’s very kind of you.”
Alex was moved and got emotional. He also thanked Dhruv upon seeing the message. He continued with the game and told Dhruv that the message cost him $1995 and that he was left with $5.

Trebek has hosted Jeopardy! for 35 years now. He revealed in March that he has been diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. It is one of the fastest moving and deadliest types of cancer. Post that, Trebek decided to continue hosting the show, however, he returned to the show only in August after starting chemotherapy.
He told a media publication at the time of his diagnosis that the prognosis for this is normally not very encouraging. Adding to this, he also said that he is going to fight this and that he shall keep working. The Sony Pictures TV Chairman Mile Hopkins told a media publication that if anyone can beat this, it's Alex and he has all the support from them as they know he will tackle this challenge head-on. Not just that, but the fans of Jeopardy! have also been showing support to the host since the announcement of him having cancer.
