Charlize Theron could relate to Megyn Kelly's character in Bombshell

Charlize Theron recently spoke to Adam Driver regarding her role in the film Bombshell. In a special segment by of a media publication’s interview, Adam Driver and Charlize Theron interviewed each other and talked about their respective recent releases. Here's what Charlize Theron has to say about playing the role of Megyn Kelly in the docudrama film Bombshell.

Charlize talks to Adam Driver about Bombshell

Charlize Theron recently spoke about her film Bombshell to Marriage Story actor Adam Driver. Theron who also produced the film plays the role of former Fox employee Megyn Kelly. Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson made sexual harassment allegations against their employer and Roger Ailes before his death. Those claims formed the basic plotline of the film. During the interview, Adam Driver asked Charlize Theron regarding playing the character of Megyn Kelly in the film. Theron revealed that she always tries to find a personal connection with the character that she is playing to make a sense of the situation. She tried to do the same for Kelly’s character.

Charlize Theron revealed that Megyn Kelly as a character can be polarizing at times. There are certain aspects of her personality that live in the extremes. People have an end to end view about her, they either hate her or love her said the Bombshell actor. Charlize Theron explained further that this opinion by people does not affect Megyn. As a character, she does not mind the observation people have made and has no excuses to provide for their opinions.

Charlize continued by stating that she could relate to the role of Megyn Kelly. She said that she could also relate to the fact that people called Kelly with names and described her as somebody with a cold demeanour as Theron has gone through a similar situation. Charlize stated that she does not like something that is perfect and finds it hard to relate to. Theron also said Megyn Kelly’s role challenged her to be more empathetic and this muscle needed more hard work. Charlize Theron’s performance in the film is gaining great critical acclaim and she is even being considered to be part of the Oscars race this year. Bombshell also stars Nicole Kidman in the role of Gretchen Carlson and Margot Robbie as a fictional character named Kayla Pospisil. The film is set to release on December 13 this year.
