Cillian Murphy survived on an almond a day?

In a recent interview with Extra, Emily Blunt opened up about the ultimate sacrifice Cillian Murphy made to replicate the character of Robert Oppenheimer. The actress said, "He had such a monumental undertaking. And he could only eat, like, an almond every day. He was so emaciated."

In another conversation with The Guardian, Emily revealed that Cillian was so committed to his role and diet that sometimes he would just forget to sleep or even eat as he was full of so-called "crazy energy." The Peaky Blinders actor himself shed light on his diet and told New York Times, "I love acting with my body, and Oppenheimer had a very distinct physicality and silhouette, which I wanted to get right." Despite the huge risks involved, the actor did not shy from dedicating himself to his portrayal of Oppenheimer in the film.

In a conversation with The Guardian, the actor cleared the air and said that his way of dieting is not safe and others should take precautions before following such extreme diets. He further added, "You become competitive with yourself a little bit, which is not healthy. I don’t advise it." Cillian Murphy also explained that he never wanted to talk about the food his nutritionist had suggested to cut down his weight as he did not want to make it to the headlines.
