David Schwimmer rose to popularity by playing Ross Geller in the American comedy sitcom, Friends. He received his first break in ABC’s 1989 television film, A Deadly Silence. However, the world knows David as Ross from the sitcom. After he wrapped up the show, David experimented with various shows and films. Here is a list of his top films to watch on the actor’s 53rd birthday, which is on November 2.
1. Wolf (1994)
Schwimmer played the role of a cop in the 1994 horror flick. Directed by Mike Nichols, the film starred Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer, and also Bollywood actor Om Puri. The film’s release was delayed by almost six to eight months, but it was a hit at the box office.
2. The Pallbearer (1996)
The Pallbearer was a romantic comedy film starring David Schwimmer, Gwyneth Paltrow, Toni Collette, Michael Vartan, Michael Rapaport, and Barbara Hershey in lead roles. It was co-written and directed by Matt Reeves. The film was also screened at the Cannes Film Festival in 1996. It is counted amongst Schwimmer’s biggest hits till date.
3. Six Days Seven Nights (1998)
Six Days Seven Nights was an action comedy film directed by Ivan Reitman. David Schwimmer played the role of Frank Martin in the film. The film opened to mixed reviews from critics. However, it was a commercial success at the box office.
4. Big Nothing (2006)
Directed by Jean-Baptiste Andrea, the film was a comedy flick starring David Schwimmer. The film also starred Simon Pegg and Alice Eve in pivotal roles. However, even with the powerful plotline, it did not do well in terms of collections.
5. Nothing But the Truth (2008)
David Schwimmer starred in the 2008 drama, Nothing but the Truth. The film was directed by Rod Lurie. It also starred Kate Beckinsale, Matt Dillon, Angela Bassett, Alan Alda, and Vera Farmiga alongside David. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008.
