Doctor Sleep: The World will shine again, Danny returns on Nov 8

The world will shine again as Doctor Sleep is set to release on November 8. Doctor Sleep revolves around the story of Danny Torrance after his terrifying stay at the Outlook Hotel as a kid. The film stars Star Wars actor Ewan McGregor as Danny. Mike Flanagan, the director of the film, has created his own screenplay for this Stephen King novel. 1. The Plot and its connection with The Shining

Doctor Sleep is a continuation of the concept of supernatural and horrifying pasts of the Outlook Hotel which has been a part of the film The Shining, directed by Stanley Kubrick. Danny Torrance returns to the Outlook Hotel after 40 years post his meeting with Abra who possesses the same gift i.e. ‘the shine’ like him. Danny is still trying to find peace with his past which was ruined due to his stay at the Outlook Hotel. Abra, a brave teenage girl is being chased by something evil and her followers, who feed off ‘the shine’ of innocents in their quest for immortality.

2. Doctor Sleep: Trailer details

Doctor Sleep trailer dropped on September 8 this year, and since then, has been one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. The trailer starts with Danny narrating how the Outlook still haunts him and unbalances his life. Danny can be seen trying to run away from his problems when he finally meets Abra. Abra possesses the same shine as Danny and hence they are on their quest to defeat Rose The Hat and her followers. Rose The Hat can be seen trying to battle it out with the shining duo while also trying to trouble Danny with his past at the Outlook Hotel.

3. Cast and other details

Doctor Sleep has been directed by Mike Flanagan. Ewan Mcgregor, who has worked in films like Stars Wars: Episode I, II & III, is essaying the role of Danny Torrance. Mission Impossible actor Rebecca Ferguson is playing the role of Rose The Hat and feeding off the shine from innocent people. Rose’s character in the trailer itself provides enough scares. Kyliegh Curran plays the role of Abra in her debut film.
