Ellen DeGeneres, Jameela Jamil support Harry, Meghan's lawsuit
Ellen DeGeneres and Jameela Jamil support Harry and Meghan 's lawsuit against tabloid for derogatory portrayal of excerpts from Meghan's letter to her father.
TV host Ellen De Genres and British actress Jameela Jamil who are celebrity pals of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have come in support of them in their recent move against a tabloid newspaper that Meghan claims illegally published a personal letter she wrote to her father. The civil lawsuit accuses the tabloid of copyright infringement, misuse of private information and violating the UK's data protection law with the intrusive publication of the letter, a spokeswoman for Schillings, the law firm handling the case, said. Moreover, Markle's husband Prince Harry has also accused the tabloid of editing the letter in an intentionally destructive manner to manipulate readers with an unflattering portrayal of his wife. The royals, who are currently still on tour in southern Africa, announced the news in a lengthy statement on October 1.
The derogatory representation of Meghan's note to her father
The press had mounted criticisms on the Duchess since her marriage to Prince Harry in May 2018. Yet it was the paper’s publishing of a handwritten letter from the royal to her estranged father, Thomas Markle which led to the legal action. Meghan accuses her father of turning a blind eye to the pain he caused by speaking to the media, in the note, dated August 2018. With Ellen and Jameela's support, the rare royal defense has seen the pair’s famous friends lend their support.
The bond between Meghan, Ellen, and Jameela
Meghan's earlier ventures in Hollywood and her present role as Duchess has earned her friends from various fields. Several reports in early September this year mentioned that Ellen DeGeneres has met Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the four-month-old son of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry. The comedian and talk show host revealed on her daytime show on September 9 that she not only got to encounter the seventh in line for the throne, but she got to feed and hold him too. Though the DeGeneres didn't share any pictures, Ellen said on the show that the baby looks like Harry.
The host further joked that the royal baby has a perfectly circular head, just like Harry, and he had more hair than I did at the time. Similarly, Jameela Jamil stood by Meghan on several occasions including this. Earlier she spoke for Meghan when 60 Minutes Australia pointed out Meghan's race to be the reason for royal crisis. Jameela tweeted thanked the twitter handle in a mocking tone saying that Meghan glowed in it. Take a look at what they have said on Meghan and Harry's recent lawsuit.
