Singer Elton John has opened up in a reported interview about his strained relationship with his mother Sheila Farebrother before her death in 2017. John said that his mother never met his two sons, Zachary, 8, and Elijah, 6, which he shares with his husband David Furnish. Elton John is also scheduled to release her memoir 'Me' which will be dedicated to his life and his two sons.
Elton: Mother was a sociopath
Elton John reveals that his Mother never liked David or anybody for that matter and never asked to see his children either. But he says he is glad that they did not meet as she would have criticised them in the same way as she criticised him. "She couldn't help herself," he added. "She's a sociopath," John said that he and his mother had reconciled before she died but that did not change their strained relationship. He said that the only thing that changed was that he did not lose his temper and knew what was coming and let her get on with it and later said that he loves his mum. His mom said that she loves him too but does not like him.
When John was asked whether he had any regrets John said that when he was trying cocaine in 1974 even after vomiting for the first time he went back for one more and soon he was addicted. He said that it nearly destroyed his soul, it turned black like a charred piece of steak until he needed help and suddenly a little pilot light in his soul came along which said to him that it (Pilot light) is still here.
John reveals it all in his memoir 'Me'
In the aftermath of these problems in his life, the singer has written a memoir called 'Me' for his sons. He says that he wants his boys to know what he was like and what happened so that when he is not here they can read the book and read the truth. John said that he just wants his sons to understand what he was like when he went through the journey he had before he had them. He said that he wanted his sons to know how they made his life complete, adding, how they finished the circle and know that his sons were the last chapter in his incredible life.
