Emmy Awards 2019: 'GOT' leads with 32 nominations, Chernobyl follows

With just a few moments left for the 71st edition of Primetime Emmy Awards, the excitement over the same has touched its peak. The Award ceremony which celebrates the achievements of the brightest from the world of television is scheduled to be held on September 22 at the Microsoft Theater. Series of nominations for the 71st Emmy Awards were announced by the Television Academy, presenting a huge array of first-time nominees since 2011. The announcement was hosted by presenters Ken Jeong and D’Arcy Carden and nominations included a mix of veteran television programs and the fairly new ones.

For highlights, HBO's 'Game of Thrones' has secured 32 nominations, which is the highest for any program in one single season, thus beating a 25-year-old standing record. Over its run of eight seasons, the well-acclaimed series has received a total of 161 nominations.
