The latest Hollywood release 'Aquaman' has taken the world by storm. After the film's release in India and in other countries, it has been really well received by the international crowd. Now, even before its North American screening, the film has created a record in China.
According to reports, Jason Momoa starrer has already blasted past 189 million dollars in the country. At this rate, it is easily expected to defeat 'Venom', and 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', which minted 270 million and 240 million dollars respectively. If it manages to achieve this feat, it will become the second highest grossing Hollywood flick in China, just behind 'Avengers: Infinity War' which minted 360 million dollars. In terms of global collections, the James Wan directorial has earned 260 million dollars worldwide and is expected to cross the 300 mark before the film's US release.
Positive reviews from critics at the premieres and general good word of mouth from the audience has ensured that the film enjoys such good earnings in a week's time. The flick also enjoys a pretty decent rating on Rotten Tomatoes where it stands at 70 per cent. It is also being touted as one of the best DC films to grace the screens since Gal Gadot's 'Wonder Woman'.
The Indian crowd, in particular, seems smitten with the superhero flick as they had nothing but rave praise for it. Take a look at some of the reactions:
'Aquaman' follows the story of Arthur Curry played by Jason Momoa who is half human and half Atlantean. Being really strong and with the ability to swim real fast underwater, the film is the journey of Arthur discovering his Atlantean roots and what it means for the world.
