The trailer of the upcoming American adventure film Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, based on Disney theme park, was launched on Oct 11.
The trailer of the upcoming American adventure film Jungle Cruise, based on the Disney theme park ride, was launched on October 11. The trailer promises comedy, adventure, thriller and action, all wrapped in one. The star cast of the film includes Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Jack Whitehall, Edgar Ramírez, and Paul Giamatti among others.
Get ready for a thrilling ride
The trailer opens up with a legend about a tree in the Amazon that possesses unparalleled healing powers. A brother (Jack Whitehall) and sister (Emily Brunt) duo hires a boat captain (Dwayne Johnson) who claims to provide “the cheapest, but also the most thrilling” ride. Set up in Amazon, the theme park has marauders and natives of the forest to add on to the adventure ride. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) approaches the boat captain looking for a passage up the river and offers a lot of money. At the end of the trip, Lily finds out that “the myth is real” hinting towards the legend of the healing tree.
In August, Johnson and Blunt talked about the Jungle Cruise at D23Expo stage and shared their experience. Spanish filmmaker Jaume Collet-Serra is the director and John Davis, John Fox, Dwayne Johnson, Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia and Beau Flynn are the producers, with Doug Merrifield serving as executive producer. The film, earlier scheduled to be released on October 11, 2019, will now set to release on July 24, 2020.
Blunt and Johnson
Emily Blunt, a British-American actor, has received a Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and has been nominated for two British Academy Film Awards. The Devil Wears Prada was a breakthrough film for her where she featured opposite Anne Hathway and the legendary Meryl Streep. Dwayne Johnson is a former professional wrestler known by his ring name The Rock. Apart from his wrestling career, he has featured in numerous films including The Mummy Returns (2001) The Scorpion King (2002) and Baywatch (2017). Johnson is also one of the co-producers of Jungle cruise.
