Classics never get old and the latest adaptation of ‘Little Women’, the iconic 19th century novel, after 150 years shows it once again. Greta Gerwig, known for the 2017 Oscar contender ‘Ladybird’, is the brain behind the eight film adaptation of the ‘Little Women’. To have popular names like Meryl Streep and Emma Watson in this one, only adds as the icing to this glorious cake.
The story, as is known to the literature lovers, traces the lives of the four March sisters in New England in 1860s after the conclusion of the American Civil War. The aspirations of the sisters, one wanting to be a writer, the other dreaming of becoming a painter and their love stories in the society which mainly gives focus on the marriage of a woman more than anything else forms the basic plot.
Meryl Streep’s hilarious dialogue of not having married because she is rich is one of the highlights.
