Marvel's Hulk has a solution to Martin Scorsese's problem

Mark Ruffalo found his way into the controversy involving director Martin Scorsese. Recently, Scorsese had made a negative comment about the movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instead of getting offended by the comment made by Scorsese, Ruffalo came to a solution to the on-going feud. Scorsese said that movies by Marvel studios are ‘not cinema’ but are more of a ‘theme park’. He, in an interview with a leading magazine, said that the closest he can think of Marvel movies, which are well made as they are, with the actors doing best they can under the circumstances, is a theme park. He added that it is not the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.

On this, Ruffalo said defending the Marvel movies that what really speaks to the people about these movies is the heart and humanity of characters and this is what makes Avengers: Endgame so powerful. These characters from the movie care about and reckon with the world around them. He said that this is what makes it cinema. To resolve this feud, Mark suggested that he would love to see Marty create a national film endowment, and could, in turn, let young, new talent come in, which will not just be driven by the marketplace but by the precepts of art. He said that this would really be an amazing thing and added that this is the crux of this conversation.
