Matthew Perry who played the iconic character of Chandler Bing in Friends believes that Arthur Fleck from the hit movie Joker copied his iconic dance moves. Fans of both Joker and the hit sitcom Friends found similarities between the goofy dancing of Chandler and the dance by the Joker.
Imitation, the best form of flatter?
Perry is pretty sure that the Joker copied his moves.
Joaquin Phoenix's critically acclaimed Joker has provided netizens with a lot of fresh materials for memes and iconic scenes that will stay in audiences' minds for some time. The movie was released on October 2, 2019.
In one of the scenes, Pheonix seems to be breaking into a jig as he walks down a flight of stairs after finally coming to terms with who he really is. The scene has become so popular that fans have been gathering at the location and performing their own version of the Joker jig.
Similar step
But some fans of the famous sitcom Friends felt they saw something familiar. They believed that Chandler Bing had done the dance first. In the show, Friends, Perry's character Chandler Bing would often break into a spontaneous dance.
As can be seen from the tweets below the dance seem eerily similar.

As of November 17, 2019, Joker has grossed $322.6 million in the United States and Canada, and $694 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $1.017 billion, and is the seventh-highest-grossing film of 2019. It became the first R-rated film to pass the billion-dollar mark, which is quite a feat considering how before the release of the movie internet trolls were criticizing the movie for promoting 'white terrorism'.
Phoenix gave one of the best performances of his career and was even being compared to Heath Ledger's Joker. Heath Ledger's Joker in Batman: The Dark Knight is considered by many to be one of the best portrayal of Joker by any actor.
